Draft — not ready to publish
These terms were drafted from how the league actually operates, but they are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by a solicitor. Complete every highlighted value in src/lib/legal-details.ts and have them checked. This banner disappears on its own once nothing is left blank.
Terms & Conditions
These are the terms on which you join Performance Football League and play in our leagues. Please read them before you sign up — by creating an account you agree to them.

Affiliated to Gloucestershire FA
Performance Football League is an affiliated member of the Gloucestershire Football Association, and runs under FA rules. Affiliation number [GLOUCESTERSHIRE FA AFFILIATION NUMBER].
1. Who We Are
Performance Football League ("we", "us", "the League") runs 7-a-side football leagues in Bristol. We trade as [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME AND NUMBER], registered at [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS].
You can reach us at [email protected] or on 07799 424597.
2. Who Can Play
You must be 18 or over to register. We will ask for your date of birth and may ask for proof of age.
You must be fit enough to take part in competitive football. You know your own body better than we do — if you have any doubt, speak to your GP before you play. You must tell us about any medical condition that could affect you on the pitch, and keep that information up to date in your account.
Our leagues are open to all abilities and we place you in a squad matched to the level you tell us. We may move you between squads to keep the leagues balanced and competitive.
3. Joining And Your Team
You join as an individual, not as a team. Once your registration and first payment are complete, we will assign you to a squad — usually within one to two working days. You will normally stay with that squad for the season.
Membership guarantees you one game per week during the season, refereed by a qualified official, subject to the exceptions in section 7. Squad places are limited and allocated in the order registrations are completed.
4. Your Free Session
New players are entitled to one free session. It is limited to one per person, cannot be exchanged for money, and is offered subject to a place being available on the night. You are under no obligation to join afterwards, and we will not ask for payment details to book it.
You must still meet the eligibility requirements in section 2, and you must give us your emergency contact details before you take to the pitch.
5. Fees And Payment
- Monthly membership£30 per month, collected by Direct Debit through GoCardless. Your first collection is taken when you complete registration, and monthly on the same date after that. This is the only option that guarantees you a squad place and a weekly game.
- Pay as you go£10 per game, paid before you play. Pay-as-you-go is strictly subject to availability on the night and does not guarantee you a squad place or a game.
There is no joining fee and no minimum contract term. Fees do not vary with how many games you actually attend — an unused week is not refunded or carried forward, because our costs for pitches and officials are committed in advance.
We may change our fees, but we will give you at least one month's notice by email before a change affects you. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel under section 6 before it takes effect.
6. Cancelling Your Membership
You can cancel at any time. There is no minimum term and no exit fee. To cancel, email us at [email protected] or tell us through your account. We ask for 30 days notice so we can fill your squad place.
Your membership runs until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are welcome to keep playing until then. Cancelling your Direct Debit with your bank alone does not cancel your membership — please tell us as well, so we do not record a missed payment against your account.
Your 14-day cooling-off right. Because you sign up online, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of joining and receive a full refund. If you ask us to start your membership within that period and then cancel, we may charge you a proportionate amount for what you have used — for example, the games you have already played.
We may cancel your membership if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms or our Code of Conduct. Where we do, we will refund any period you have paid for but not used.
7. Fixtures, Cancellations And Postponements
Matches are played on Wednesday evenings, kicking off at 19:45 or 20:30, at Abbeywood Community School, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8SF. We will confirm your kick-off time each week.
Occasionally we may have to cancel or move a fixture — for severe weather, an unplayable pitch, a venue closure, no available referee, or anything else outside our reasonable control. Where we can, we will tell you in advance and reschedule. If we cancel a significant number of fixtures in a month for reasons within our control, we will credit your account accordingly.
If you cannot make a game, please tell your team as early as you can. Repeatedly failing to turn up without notice lets your squad down and may lead to us withdrawing your place.
8. Conduct And Discipline
We are affiliated to the Gloucestershire Football Association and play under FA rules. All players must follow our Code of Conduct, which forms part of these terms.
The Code sets out the sanctions we apply for misconduct, including match suspensions and fines. Where a fine is issued, it must be paid before you play again. Serious incidents — violent conduct in particular — may be reported to the Gloucestershire FA and may result in your membership being terminated without refund.
Referees' decisions on the pitch are final. Abuse of match officials, other players or venue staff will not be tolerated.
9. Filming, Data And Your Image
Every match is filmed. That is a core part of what membership provides — we use VEO cameras, GoPros and player trackers to produce your performance analysis. By playing in our leagues you accept that you will appear in this footage and in the statistics we generate from it.
Your footage and statistics are available in your account, and some information — such as league tables, leaderboards and team pages — is visible to other players in your league.
We may use short clips and images from matches to promote the League. If you would prefer we did not use your image in promotional material, email us and we will honour that. It will not affect your membership.
How we handle your personal information, including your health data, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Risk, Injury And Liability
Football is a contact sport and carries an inherent risk of injury. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for making sure you are fit to play, that you wear appropriate footwear and shin pads, and that you stop if you are hurt.
You are responsible for your own personal belongings at the venue. We cannot accept responsibility for property that is lost, damaged or stolen.
We strongly recommend you hold your own personal accident insurance. Our affiliation provides the cover required by the FA, but that cover is limited and is not a substitute for your own.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, and our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
The information you give us must be accurate — particularly your date of birth, medical information and emergency contact, which we rely on to keep you safe. Please keep it up to date.
12. Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will give you at least one month's notice by email, and you may cancel under section 6 if you do not accept it. The version published on this page is always the current one.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
If you have a complaint, please come to us first at [email protected] — we would far rather put something right than have it escalate.
By registering with Performance Football League you confirm that you have read and accept these terms, our Code of Conduct and our Privacy Policy.
